Well I just installed autometa after a Kian Ann was talking about adding meta tag’s
did not use Meta tags as i thought in this day and age they where pretty much obsolete, no one for sure knows if Google still uses them, and all the meta search spiders drink up all the bandwidth and their isn’t much you gain from it. So i though i should give it a go for a couple of months.
But i just came across autometa automatically sets up your keywords by scanning your text when you publish it, so now i will keep using meta tags as I don’t have to waste time typing them in!

You still need to type
Take the above article as an example: AutoMeta (currently) doesn’t know that you’re talking about “metadata” because you don’t explicitly say “metadata”, so it cannot extract that term from the content, but it’s probably a highly suitable keyword term. Use AutoMeta as a guide, an enabler, a reminder a facilitator.

Hey! Nice theme change!
Anyway, I think meta description is still used, but meta keywords not really… I prefer to type the meta description myself … from an SEO perspective!

That was a fast reply Rich, thanks for posting, not actually sure what your talking about as I really don’t know anything about metadata :p.

Thanks Kian Ann I didn’t like the ‘classic’ theme so I thought it was a good time to have a go at a Web 2.0 design.
I’ve never really been very good at writing descriptions for some reason, but then again I’ve never written any descriptions for a meta tag.

Meta Description is still used and has a little weight in search engines.
And it can also get people to click on your link if its well written.

Only problem is I keep forgetting to write any descriptions for my posts :(.
