I’ve had two people tag me so what the hell.

My first tag came from Kian Ann and now my second from Char so I think I’ll give it a go at writing about my self

  1. My pet I have a cat called KitKat, nicest cat in the world and fattest cat in the world, but from what i hear the majority of web masters own cats :D.
  2. I am a student at college taking a course that involves fixing computers, we shall be starting a business (i feel sorry for the customers :P).
  3. I’m a freelance website designer I’ve helped to design many websites and sometimes develop them their is a link in my side bar if you feel like checking out my site ;), or even contacting me.
  4. As Kian Ann mentioned I think I would have to say damn right! “I sometimes very often stay up all night to blog.
  5. And I think I should really get around to doing some Xmas shopping Oh crap its like 2 days away!I have not finished my Christmas shopping, wrapping or house cleaning! Yikes!”

Fixed Website Layout Plus Side?

Well I got thinking today all about full layout’s Vs 800 pixels width, and thinking about it their are good things about both layouts.

Full Layout Designs.207618_3187.jpg

  1. They fit a wide variety of screen resolutions.
  2. Allows you too add more content with out getting the cluttered feeling.
  3. More complex to make a CSS layout using a full layout.

800 by 600 Layout Designs.

  1. Its a fixed layout meaning it isn’t resized when the viewer changes the size of the browser.
  2. You can create images easier for the layout as you would be using a fixed size for example I design with a image of 750px by 50px for the top curb of my site.
  3. Faster to design, you can put a simple 800 by 600 layout in a couple of hours using a CSS layout.

My method of designing websites is to always use 800 by 600 layouts mainly as no one any more uses under that layout size as a screen resolution their for allowing me to build a fixed layout and that allows me to see what it will look like on everyone’s computer instead of having a full layout which could look really awful on a 1600 by 1200 screen resolution.

Comments Are Good So Why…

wave.jpgComments are a good way of getting extra content yet blogs that I look at they don’t always encourage this in ways that will help.

1.Asking questions on your blog brilliant way to get people to comment.

2.Replying to your fellow commenter’s this is where most bloggers fall down I think, if i post a comment on someone’s blog and don’t get a reply that’s it I’m out of their, but when someone replies to me i click on the feed and add it to my Google homepage.

3.Keep them commenting on a article they post a comment try and squish in another question that they or another person will reply too this yet again means more content = more visitors.

Commenter’s are the best thing for your blog to hit success, if you talk to them in a good manner they will help you on your way to stardom so people lets get commenter’s!

RSS Feeds Good Or Bad?

you.jpgI use RSS feeds all the time but I just started thinking that its taking visitors away from my site, yes their reading my feeds but their not looking at my site, and for some reason this is annoying me now I’ve thought about it I could make the RSS feed short so they have to come to my site to read the rest but will that not push people away completely?

And you can’t place and adsense adverts in your feeds, which is the main reason why we are here.

So I think the only solution is to start a campaign about this, it is possible to make dynamic images, but why isn’t anyone doing this it could revolutionise the web as we know it.

So I’m calling up on all you bloggers out their to blog about this matter WE NEED RSS ADVERTS, so that we don’t involve the tax man as much!

Blogging is so much fun!

snow.jpgI have learned a lot from my blogging experience which was my main aim of opening up a blog, but rather than been a chore its turned into a hobby everyday I look forward to writing on my blog I don’t have a clue why this is but if someone asked me to do this back in school i would of done a crap job of it and left it their.

I have owned a lot of sites before that I really have failed at, my first ever website was one-thing.org which is closed now but I could hardly scrape together 10 hits a day but it was also fun competing with a friend of mine as we where new at all this, but this was the stage where i was just coming out of free html hosting websites so still learning the art of SHTML and PHP.

But over the past couple of sites my visitors haven’t really increased but my designs have come along way and my knowledge of web scripting, and here I am writing on a pre made script with a WYSIWYG editor and who would of guessed it could be this fun!
