A new way to draw people to your site?

Browser URLWell today I was checking out my forums, and too my surprise some new members commented on a old thread, the thread was myself and some other members discussing their work on a couple of their sites which in my opinion looked nice but ultimately wasn’t SEO friendly.

So this thread popped up and the owners where their saying how I was wrong. This isn’t something you would expect (well at least I never would), I was very shocked to see them talking about it.

So could this be a good idea for bringing people to your site, it could seem to be a very good idea out of this one thread I got two new members to join and they where actually really happy about it, which I found the funniest part when they commented back they sounded a little ticked off so too see them chatting away with me, they where happy about my comments!

Please comment back on this if you have had any experiences like this I find this really funny!

No Internet Means No Work?

This happened to me twice in one day once at my College and once at home when I was at college everyone was sitting at their computers working when suddenly theirs a moaning in the room which slowly circulates around the room until everyone rolls away from the computer and starts talking at that point I though this is suddenly very loud I looked around the room no one was doing their work just chatting away as we couldn’t do anything as we was working on the internet.

When I was sitting at home surfing the net looking for presents so I could be ready for Christmas it goes down once again it had renewed my plans for uploading a couple of articles on typer tappers and doing a little work for college.

So anyone else find that if your connection goes down everything comes screeching to a halt?

The Gadget Show Campaign For Free wifi.

ss_223.jpgWell I keep meaning to blog about this but keep forgetting finally I remembered!

But if you watch “The Gadget Show” on five you will know about their free wifi campaign in the UK for free wifi, I think this is a brilliant idea they have done it in a couple of places in the US and it has helped poor communities to build up their community.

But in this campaign I can see a lot of problems for example carrying your laptops around with you in busy areas can lead to much more problems with anti social behaviour as you will see a increase in crime rates, which is already a massive problem.

It will confine the war drivers though as they will just stay in towns sniffing people’s traffic but could this also lead to a new generation of hackers?

I have signed up to this campaign and I hope all the readers out their reading my blog will also sign up for free WiFi.

I would love to hear your comments on this as I’m not too sure about the subject in hand as it could be a very dangerous idea to unleash.

Vista, well too me it sounds like a load of hot air.

Lets start off from looking at Windows 95/98.

Windows 95: It was a break through in computer operating systems, I still have 95 running on a machine somewhere you compare it to any before that and you will see that it was unbelievable at how good it was it practically lead the way to our more modern operating systems like XP and for this windows will never be forgotten.

Windows 98/SE: I was a user of this for many many years it was very recent that I actually switched to XP maybe a year ago I was still using 98SE fabulous operating system had the 95 feel too it but with a much wider range of usage.

Windows ME: This was pretty much a failure you couldn’t see anything new about it, 98 was still loads better than ME, so nothing else I can put here really.

Windows XP: Now were getting to the big players, XP was simply amazing with its looks and many more features one of the biggest features I can think of now are “plug and play” and this was a large reason why a lot of people switched from 98.

Spam how do we get it?

Well the most common way as you might already know is posting your email address online, which if you’re a webmaster is very annoying because you have to make a image with your email address on so that the ‘spiders’ can’t read it.

The other way is submitting your email address to people, a while ago I submitted one of my old email addresses to a free host website and I started to get a lot of spam and increasing amount of spam over the couple of months from what I recall I had about 20 emails a day.

But thinking back to it now it was a very stupid thing to do submitting my email address to a free host website but now you see companies actually giving out emails (bulk) for a charge and these are their customers or it could even be someone from the inside of the company leaking the information out.

But nowadays you need to submit your email address to practically everything you do for example posting a comment on a blog you need to use your email to verify your not a spammer or you want to download something you need to verify your email address again.
