Black Hat SEO, To Use and Abuse or Avoid?
For a while now I have been learning SEO and many different ways to promote websites using the powerful world of Google, Yahoo and Ask.
As you might remember my recent posts where I cought up on some important SEO reading How To Make Keywords Stand Out , Making your Layout easier for Google and the most important Links to and from your website.
But it is now the time to enter the world of Black Hat SEO, their are a lot of reasons why not to use this but in many ways their are reasons to use this.1 reason it might not be a good idea to use blackhat is because it can get you on googles black list, which overall is not good you could end up loosing traffic which is then a good idea to sell the site before it takes you down.
But the traffic can be a god send for your site, heres a basic method to get backlinks setup 3-4 dummy sites make it look nice and put a bunch of your main site links all over it, then go around placing these sites all over the internet say around 2,000 links on each of them, this will then direct google to your site a lot more which could be like having 4,000 backlinks to your site, which = a high PR.
So black hat methods are a way of increasing your sites growth much faster than sitting and waiting to get a limited number of backlinks, with your main site if you get too many links coming to your site you will find that your ending up in google’s sandbox which isn’t good for your traffic coming from google, and it will take a while before you get out of it.
So what do you think of black hat SEO , would you use it for your sites or do you think it is now too much of a risk now?

Black hat should only be used if you dont have to ask yourself that question.
White hat is easier and safer.
Black hat is faster and handy for sites you dont mind getting blacklisted, but it takes skill to do it right and not get banned.

I think black hat is more inventive and can be much more fun than white hat, you can be a rebel

I shall be practicing some black hat on some dummy sites to learn about it.

its best to use white hat techniques. doing black hat strategies could hurt your site in the long run.

I agree web traffic or lack of it can make or break a website. Whilst using black hat can bring considerable benefits in the short term, it’s not a technique that should be used adhock. Company websites need to be trusted by both the search engines and its users, if a website is found to be breaking the rules and discovered by the Google the site will be penalized in the rankings, or in the worse case banned, this makes a company website worthless in the long term. Black hat is a technique that is good for sites that need fast traffic and don’t need to be around long, such as adsence sites etc:
We are seo specialists and would not use black hat on our cients sites as this is dangerous ground to tread, as least for seo companies working on well established sites

For specific projects where getting your site banned isn’t an issue then dubious methods can be incorporated.
However, you don’t need to resort to those tactics if you’re planning to be around a while. Use SEOQuake, Spyfu etc. to spy on your direct competitors (ahem!).
If you can afford it, outsource the tasks for faster results. I oursource my work and just project manage.
