Promoting Your Weblog Do’s And Don’ts

Well I have put together ways to promote your weblogs in a list going form good to bad. At the top you will have ones that you should subscribe to for lots of visitors and going towards the bottom will be ones which arn’t bad, so here we go.

Mybloglog.com - This is a really good website as it allows you to talk to other blog owners add yourself to other communities which then will get your blog known the more ‘contacts’ you have the more visitors you have.

Digg.com - Well its slowly going down hill but you can still get a lot of visitors if people digg you, now this is annoying but it can be done maybe asking friends to digg you or things like that.

MySpace.com - This has the good concept of adding friends again which will get you more repeat visitors its easy to get friends just pick one profile and work your way up from their adding all the people you can find you might end up with maybe 2000 friends but that’s a lot of visitors if your just advertising for your website.

I Joined The Affilliate Program’s

laptop.jpgWell I got my bank statement the other day looked at it and found I had £2.00 from 1&1 Hosting and Domains I used one of their affiliate links on one of my links pages which I put up a while ago now and it gets under 20 unique visitors every day.

So I got thinking about this as I haven’t had any success with Ad sense lately, I though I should try putting some adverts around the pages, so I used my 1&1 account to put a advert below the header and then joined Affiliate Future which allows me to add tonnes of adverts their is a massive database of clients you can use for example Firebox if you refer a user using your link you gave them once they order something you get a certain percentage of the profits.

Make 25 sales or more and receive 11%.
Make 50 sales or more and receive 12%.
Make 150 sales or more and receive 15%

Their is a overwhelming list of clients its really worth a go, I shall be trying it out for a couple of months to see how it goes, a lot of forums I’ve visited they have said use affiliate links instead of PPC (pay-per-click) advertising.

RSS Feeds Good Or Bad?

you.jpgI use RSS feeds all the time but I just started thinking that its taking visitors away from my site, yes their reading my feeds but their not looking at my site, and for some reason this is annoying me now I’ve thought about it I could make the RSS feed short so they have to come to my site to read the rest but will that not push people away completely?

And you can’t place and adsense adverts in your feeds, which is the main reason why we are here.

So I think the only solution is to start a campaign about this, it is possible to make dynamic images, but why isn’t anyone doing this it could revolutionise the web as we know it.

So I’m calling up on all you bloggers out their to blog about this matter WE NEED RSS ADVERTS, so that we don’t involve the tax man as much!

A new way to draw people to your site?

Browser URLWell today I was checking out my forums, and too my surprise some new members commented on a old thread, the thread was myself and some other members discussing their work on a couple of their sites which in my opinion looked nice but ultimately wasn’t SEO friendly.

So this thread popped up and the owners where their saying how I was wrong. This isn’t something you would expect (well at least I never would), I was very shocked to see them talking about it.

So could this be a good idea for bringing people to your site, it could seem to be a very good idea out of this one thread I got two new members to join and they where actually really happy about it, which I found the funniest part when they commented back they sounded a little ticked off so too see them chatting away with me, they where happy about my comments!

Please comment back on this if you have had any experiences like this I find this really funny!

Getting a lot of visitors to your weblog.

Well I have come across a lot of people recently asking how to get a website popular, the first thing they think of is Google people think you just make a website and you will get loads of visitors from Google, but this isn’t a very good plan search engine optimization is a long and painful process.

You will find thousands of people making money for just being good at SEO, but it comes with years of practice and is always changing so its very hard to keep up, so you need to be fully dedicated to the job.

So I’m going to sum up everything i have learned over the past years so you can catch up on anything you don’t know about SEO.

  1. Content: You’re content must be up to scratch you must have loads of it and it must be updater regularly.

  2. Anchored Links: A very good way to get a high page rank in Google is by having a website link to you having text in the link containing keywords and a description etc.
