I’ve never looked at the stats properly at Christmas time but it went down quite low at Christmas which I wasn’t too surprised about I expected a fall in visitors, but it hasn’t harmed anything it just dropped to the amount of visitors I got last month.
What was everyone else’s stats like at Christmas?
Well I got my bank statement the other day looked at it and found I had £2.00 from 1&1 Hosting and Domains I used one of their affiliate links on one of my links pages which I put up a while ago now and it gets under 20 unique visitors every day.
So I got thinking about this as I haven’t had any success with Ad sense lately, I though I should try putting some adverts around the pages, so I used my 1&1 account to put a advert below the header and then joined Affiliate Future which allows me to add tonnes of adverts their is a massive database of clients you can use for example Firebox if you refer a user using your link you gave them once they order something you get a certain percentage of the profits.
Make 25 sales or more and receive 11%.
Make 50 sales or more and receive 12%.
Make 150 sales or more and receive 15%
Their is a overwhelming list of clients its really worth a go, I shall be trying it out for a couple of months to see how it goes, a lot of forums I’ve visited they have said use affiliate links instead of PPC (pay-per-click) advertising.
Well I got thinking today all about full layout’s Vs 800 pixels width, and thinking about it their are good things about both layouts.
Full Layout Designs.
800 by 600 Layout Designs.
My method of designing websites is to always use 800 by 600 layouts mainly as no one any more uses under that layout size as a screen resolution their for allowing me to build a fixed layout and that allows me to see what it will look like on everyone’s computer instead of having a full layout which could look really awful on a 1600 by 1200 screen resolution.
Comments are a good way of getting extra content yet blogs that I look at they don’t always encourage this in ways that will help.
1.Asking questions on your blog brilliant way to get people to comment.
2.Replying to your fellow commenter’s this is where most bloggers fall down I think, if i post a comment on someone’s blog and don’t get a reply that’s it I’m out of their, but when someone replies to me i click on the feed and add it to my Google homepage.
3.Keep them commenting on a article they post a comment try and squish in another question that they or another person will reply too this yet again means more content = more visitors.
Commenter’s are the best thing for your blog to hit success, if you talk to them in a good manner they will help you on your way to stardom so people lets get commenter’s!
I use RSS feeds all the time but I just started thinking that its taking visitors away from my site, yes their reading my feeds but their not looking at my site, and for some reason this is annoying me now I’ve thought about it I could make the RSS feed short so they have to come to my site to read the rest but will that not push people away completely?
And you can’t place and adsense adverts in your feeds, which is the main reason why we are here.
So I think the only solution is to start a campaign about this, it is possible to make dynamic images, but why isn’t anyone doing this it could revolutionise the web as we know it.
So I’m calling up on all you bloggers out their to blog about this matter WE NEED RSS ADVERTS, so that we don’t involve the tax man as much!
