You might not have thought that it really matters how your website is layed out, as you may have noticed my page is a mess mainly because I’m trying to reconstruct it to get the most out of Google.
How should it be layed out?
Well this is a slightly simple answer, you need the most important content to be shown first, for example this design was made so that the navigator is displayed before the main content in the source code, Google rated the first 50 words the highest so use your layout to make the most of these 50 words.
Also remember to keep your word count on the page around 1500 word if need be split the pages up, this will still allow you to have even better results in Google as each page they will rate the first 50 words the highest, so the more pages the better you might find just don’t over do it.
If your using something like Wordpress or Joomla this is easily done you can cut off the content and only show a sample of the text (remembering to make it keyword rich) and then Google can follow the more content link that is left behind and find the rest of it, one down fall of this would be the visitors may not prefer this option over being able to read it all on your front page.
